R-Vision Camping Club moving......
News about this site and it's members The R-Visioncamping Club's Website will be moving to our new Hosting Service during the morning of April 19th, 2010.

The site will be offline for approximately 3 hours during the transition.

Also, any new members who registered but didn't receive their activation email, this functionality is fixed on the new Hosting Service and you should re-attempt registering. (Note: If you previous registration is still in the system, it won't let you re-register until the pending registration auto-deletes after 72 hours)...

Thanks for everyone's patience...

2007 draws to a close.....
News about this site and it's members As 2007 draws to a close, it was another successful year for the R-Vision Camping Club that added more members, held gatherings where new friendships were made or old ones renewed and many changes occurred all over.

As our site grows, now approaching the start of our 4th year, we unveil a new logo (at right) and some more changes in 2008.... Stay tuned....

As we reflect on this last year and plan for the New Year, we extend our Best Wishes to all our Members and their families for a safe and happy holiday.

We hope that our paths will cross in 2008 and we hear about many new adventures in your R-Vision trailer or RV.

Warmest Wishes,

Your RVCC Administrator and Moderators.

Well That Was Fun (No Not Really)
News about this site and it's members

WE'RE BACK! Finally... So what happened?

A few days ago, hackers took advantage of an exploit on the R-Vision site and managed to take down not only this site, but a number of others on the server. While their goal was only to deface the sites by inserting a new front page for each website, they also tried to cover their tracks and in doing so wiped out a lot of files (instead of just the log files they had meant to)

Needless to say, this meant any recovery was going to take some time. Since we knew the site would be down for a while, we decided to go ahead and perform some much needed upgrading. So in exchange for a few days of downtime thanks to our hacker friends, R-Vision CC is back and better than ever.

So what exactly has changed?

First, we migrated the site to a new server. Both the database and web server are running on dual processor servers with 4 times the memory. You should find the forums, galleries, and other site features running much faster than before.

We also have installed some additional modules that help secure the CMS software we use even more to try and prevent hackers from being able to utilize newly discovered exploits.

We've also upgraded the Gallery software for Version 2. This is a MAJOR upgrade. Here is an indepth list of what's new in Gallery 2 compared to Gallery 1. The new database backend will help make the galleries faster and easier to manage. The new modules provide users with more powerful image manipulation tools and the new permissions system allows you to control who can do what to your albums in minute detail. If you are a power user that posts a lot of pictures, be sure to read the Gallery 2 Documentation Obviously ignore the installation stuff since it's already installed. Most modules are installed and activated. If you upload a lot of pictures, be sure to check out Gallery Remote

Besides that, the site should work just as before. However, this has been a significant upgrade, both from a user perspective (Gallery, etc) as well as on the back end (new server, databases, etc) So if you notice any problems, please use this thread to post your questions.

NOTE! One side affect of the Gallery 2 upgrade is that album permissions have to be reset. Paul is working to get them setup as quickly as he can, but it'll take a little time. So if you notice you can't administer some of your albums, that's why. If you really need to get some pictures uploaded, send nc_campers a private message with the name of the album to get updated and he'll bump it to the top of the list. Otherwise, most albums should have their permissions reset in the next few days.

Hopefully the withdrawl symptoms weren't too severe!

The 2005 RVCC PA Rally
News about this site and it's members Stoney writes "The '05 PA Rally came off as planned and was a total success. The club members who attended were;
MarcoPolo (Marco and Kinga), Mark and Joni, flohr (Frank and Gerrie), and Stoney (Peter and Nancy). Everyone had arrived at their Parker Dam SP campsite by mid-afternoon on Friday, Sep 30. Nancy and I actually arrived Thursday afternoon.

Kudos to Mark and Joni, who hosted the occasion. They did a fantastic job organizing such things as the group pot-luck meals, which featured Kinga's gourmet hamburgers, on Saturday and Sunday and the evening gatherings around the campfire all three nights at Mark and Joni's campsite.

Joni also treated the members to a variety of her delicious "mountain pies" which she prepared at the campfire Sunday evening. They made the trip worthwhile all by themselves.

Mark did, in fact, supply the firewood as promised (nearly a full pickup bed of split oak and cherry), which we eagerly converted to BTUs to combat the chill as we sat around the fire-ring each evening. We had some noteworthy campfires, but the best of all was the fire on Sunday evening, as Mark successfully burned all the remaining wood.

By chance, another R-Vision owner pulled into a campsite right next to our group. We introduced ourselves to them, gave them a club business card and extended an invitation to join us at the evening campfire, which they accepted. They were very nice folks and hopefully they will check us out and join the club.

In addition to eating, loafing, playing card games, and swapping stories, we also found some time to hold an open house of our trailers so we could all check out the various floorplans and mods.

Some of the members also drove to a nearby elk preserve for some wildlife viewing. There were also a few necessary trips to the Super Wal-Mart in Clearfield.

Those of us who were at the rally were sorry that those who originally planned to attend, missed the fun and festivities.

The '05 PA rally came to a close as the members broke camp on Monday morning.

Stoney"

Members of the Quarter
News about this site and it's members nc_campers writes "Originally, we were planning to have a member recognized every month for outstanding contributions to our site and it's members but soon realized that the work involved would be just too much to handle..

That said, we now have members of the quarter (4 every year) who are recognized for outstanding contributions of ideas, mods or site support to our members.

For the 1st Quarter of 2005, we recognize GARFIELD for his mod of using coiled hose on the outlet of the water pump to reduce the 'hammering' noise from the pump....

For the 2nd quarter of 2005, we recognize Fireman_rob for developing and manufacturing the awesome RVCC decals for our members to display on their campers.

Prizes are being awarded to our fine members for their contributions... Thanks!!!!!!!"
